I had such a difficult time choosing Shimmer. I actually
had my heart set on her sister, Rave, who immediately
brindled. Shimmer chose to brindle much later and ruined
all of my plans...ha ha. I kept both sisters for a very
long time. I finally told my friend Alicia
to just take
one of them and run like hell...just kidding! I am very
happy with my decision to keep Shimmer. She just looks so
much like her Mother, Fashion, how could I not. Shimmer
will be making her debut in August at our regional
specialty. We know this girl holds a lot of our future
dreams.
UPDATE: Shimmer attends
the Akita Club of Puget Sound as her very first show and takes Best
In Sweeps. Her 2nd weekend out she attended the Lone
Star Akita Club's Specialty. She earned Best In Sweeps under
breeder Judge Carol Evans. The next day was a supported
show and Shimmer again earns Best In Sweepstakes
under breeder Judge Barry Elliott. She went on to earn
back to back MAJORS! All of this at barely 9 months
old. Watch her Shine!!!! Shimmer earns her 3rd major
going Best of Breed over specials from the 9-12 month puppy
class under Judge Patricia Craig Trotter.
Shimmer earned her championship
on August 13, 2005 with another major.
Ohhh, how you Shine!
April 2006, Shimmer shines in
the specials ring winning Best of Breed 2 days over male
specials the weekend of the Las Vegas Akita Specialty. May
2006 Shimmer wins BOB and a Group 3 under Judge Michelle
Billings. June 2006, Shimmer earns a Group 3 under Judge
Linda Reidel, and a Group 4 under Judge Beverly Bonadonna-Vics.
August 2006 Shimmer attends the Colorado Kennel Club Shows and
earns a Group 2 under Judge Aramis Joey Lim of Australia.
Shimmer finished 2006 as #11 Akita All Breed System.
