Well, guess what?...I
finally got my brindle girl! Okay, its a Boy!
Really, I cannot thank my good friend Alicia Meyer enough for
making the decision to allow this bundle of humor and
energy to make his home here at Sondaisa Akitas. I
am realizing all of the potential this dog has to offer and if I
can ever convince him that I am not his play toy, we may get
around the ring with all 4 feet on the ground. His
favorite thing in the world is his huge water trough on his 2
acre wooded exercise area. Rather than drinking from it,
he swims in it! Chrome has thrilled us by attending his
1st show and earning reserve winners dog to a major from the
puppy class and then attending the 2003 National in St. Louis,
Missouri, and winning 1st place in the 6-9 month puppy sweeps
class, the regular class and the futurity class. He also
earned Best Opposite Grand Futurity Winner. This dog
is a stallion in a dog suit. Watching him cover ground
effortlessly and free stacking himself is an incredible
sight. I love his bone, substance, incredible
angles, strong top line, beautiful feet, dark eye and over all
balance...Ohhh, did I mention the CHROME?!!! He has a
wonderful combination of both his sire and his dam's
temperaments, although highly energetic, he is sweet, sweet
sweet! I am certain this boy has what it takes to make his
mark in the breed and the show ring...Here's to your future
Chrome! The summer of 2004 has been wonderful for
Chrome. He has earned several Best of Breed wins
from the classes, including his first major win from Judge
Robert Moore. His second major was earned going Best
of Winners for 5 points at the Akita Club of Puget Sound
Specialty under highly respected Judge Donna
Buxton. Chrome finished his CHAMPIONSHIP with
a 3rd major under Judge Louise VanAlstyne. We are going to
try out the obedience ring winter 2005/2006. We should get
some laughs if nothing else! Oh yes, we did get some
laughs and as of 2008 Chrome has only been entered in an AKC
obedience trial one weekend. If I get the strength and
guts enough to embarass myself again, you may see us in another
obedience ring.
We
want all to know how well Chrome has done as a producer.
He has 11 Champions thus far out of 6 breedings. We know
that the girls he was bred to had a lot to do with his success
as a producer, but nonetheless we are exremely happy with his
contributions to our breed. Chrome is definitely a clown
in character and a delight to have in our home!
